Diwali Festival of Lights Sunbury 2019
What a wonderful turn-out to our Diwali event at Sunbury. This was an outstanding effort by the community of Sunbury and surrounding area to support Multicultural Resources Hub, and a great way to connect communities together.
A big thank you to our honourable guests, Josh Bull (Secretary for Multicultural Affairs and Local MP for Sunbury), Ingrid Stitt (Member of Western Metropolitan Region), Mr. Vinayak Kolape (Advisor to Premier of Victoria), Jack Medcraft (Hume Council), and Kim Thien Troung (Brimbank City Council).
Thank you to our hardworking committee, all the wonderful volunteers, and supporting organizations and sponsors: Sunbury Neighborhood House, Goonawarra Neighborhood House, and Goonawarra Golf Club. Thank you as well, to stall holders, DJ’s, photography, media, performers, singers, and of course, our multi-talented MC, Mr. Jen Singh.
Multicultural Resource Hub is proud to present the Virtual Diwali – Festival of Lights, 2020.
While Covid-19 precautions mean that this year, the festival won’t feature the traditional gathering, Multicultural Resources Hub is proud to present Diwali virtually to showcase our wonderful culture and traditions.
We would be delighted for all to join in and enjoy this colourful celebration with friends, family, and the diverse multicultural communities, while ensuring that everyone stays safe.
Our program this year is much more focused on sharing knowledge through cooking, dance, music and DIY henna, and engaging with the wider multicultural community to celebrate victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
MCR Hub proudly continues its endeavour to guide, mentor and support its community… particularly our lovely ladies, in enabling them to bring out the best in themselves. Whilst it is never easy to adapt to the virtual arena in displaying talents and skills, we at MCR Hub solemnly advocate for our ladies and their amazing creations! Check out our cooking and Rangoli workshops.
